Brick rate.

 

(Brick rate is calculated under assumption that the client will pay for the supply and delivery of building materials i.e bricks, sand and cement etc.)

$1.20 - $1.70 per brick. An agreed price will be dependent on many different factors. For example:

what type of bricks to be used?,

render work?or facework?,

cut flush jointing?,

rolled?, or raked joints?(note: this price is subject to standard size average bricks(230 x 110 x 76).

Brick rate may vary depending also on the size of brick type. 

 

$0.20 per brick additional cost will be charged for brickwork to be laid over 3m in height from ground level.

$0.10 per brick additional cost will be charged for roll jointed brickwork.

​

$0.20 per brick additional cost will be charged for raked brickwork.

Hourly rate.

 

$65 per hour (bricklayer) with all work inclusive, no hidden extras.

 

$45 per hour (Labourer) 

 

$75 per hour (Heritage/feature work) i.e Arches, fire places, pizza ovens, radius walls etc. No extra costs.

Extra's

​

Setting out fee:

If the job requires setting out from scratch, particularly on footings and the job has not been pinned out by a surveyor or the builder. It will be an extra cost of $300 minimum.

Load out fee:

If the bricks are too far away from where they are to be laid, a  standard load out fee of $300. will be charged.

​

Poor access fee:

If the site has poor access, or an overly sloping block for example, an

extra fee will need to be agreed upon depending on the overall conditions.

​

Brick Piers:

 

Any piers(columns) with more than 4 bricks per course will be charged as an extra.

$3.00 per brick flat rate except for block work piers.

​

Or; for piers with 4 bricks a course or smaller the brick price plus an additional $125. per meter (height)

Example : $1.40 per brick + $125. per meter

Single brick engaged piers are charged at the brick rate plus $30. per meter.

​

Block Piers/sills:

​

Piers built in block will incur an additional charge of 

$125. per meter extra, on top of the 'per block' rate. 

Sills will be standard extra cost of an additional $50. per meter.

​

Block work:  If the job requires the installation of horizontal reinforcement bars, there will added an extra charge of $35. per reinforced course  

​

Window sills:

​

Sills will be charged at a combined rate of brick rate + the meter rate.

$50. per meter + $1.40 per brick, standard brick rate cost.

Brick on edge:

​

Brick on edge course will be charged at an additional $50. per meter on top of the standard brick rate ($1.40 per brick)

​

Soldier course:

​

Soldier course will be charged at an additional cost of $50. per meter on top of the standard brick rate ($1.40 per brick) 

 

Laying bricks up under Facia:  $5. per brick

​

Laying the last two courses to tuck under pre installed facia is awkward and time consuming.

 

Laying Vent bricks:  $5. per unit or, $10. each to build with bricks.

 

Hoop iron installation: $20. each unit installed.

Cuts:

​

Brick or blocks that need to be cut will incur the extra fee of $1. per cut

​

Installation of lintels:

​

$25. per lintel up to 2.7m ('T' lintels $50.)

​

$50. per lintel from 2.8m - 3.5m ('T' lintels $100.)

​

$300. per lintel over 3.5m - 5.5m('T' lintels or any lintels over these sizes will be charged a minimum cost of $500.)

​

Expansion joints/articulation joints:

​

$30. per meter.

​

Flashing installation:

​

$100. per roll(any less than a whole roll will be charged at $20. per meter)

​

Installation of sisolation paper:

​

$150. per unit(single storey)

​

​

Installing a standard sized door frame:

$80.

​

Window installation:

​

 From $80 upwards depending on size.
